Experimental Puppetry Arts Center
When the brief asked for a new EPAC center offering more facilities, all we could think about was the relationship between the old and new, and how the contradiction between them would manifest.

Blending the Historic with the New
The existing building, with its 100-year history as a community center and later a puppet theater, necessitated a new expansion. Instead of ignoring it, we embraced it, wrapping the existing structure in a transparent envelope that extends its boundaries while injecting new public and functional spaces.

Void as a Central Experience
The entrance is designed as a **void**, a space that visually connects all levels and functions as the central core of the building. Instead of multiple fragmented access points, this void seamlessly integrates people into the space, transforming the building into a **dynamic stage** visible to the city.
Spaces transition from **public (event spaces, workshops, gatherings)** on the ground floor to more **private functional programs** above. The transparency of the building allows activities inside to be visible, making the city itself an audience.
